The CPA Saint-Laurent is proud to have one of its skaters, Jason Chan, compete in the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, which will take place from February 6 to 22, 2026.
Jason will skate in the Ice Dance Event and represent Australia, the country of Holly Harris, his partner since 2019.
Jason began skating in 2001, at the age of 5. He registered in the CPA Saint-Laurent CanSkate program before taking his first steps in competition in singles and later in Ice Dance, a discipline where he immersed himself completely as a teenager. With his first partner, Valérie Taillefer, he rose through the ranks from the Pre-novice to Junior levels, competing at Regional, Provincial, and National levels, and eventually qualifying for and participating in International Junior Grand Prix events. In 2015, they were Canadian Champions in the Novice category.
Since 2019, Jason has been training with Holly Harris, a native of Australia, at the Ice Academy of Montreal run by Marie-France Dubreuil, Patrice Lauzon, and Romain Haguenauer. Together, they have won the Australian Senior Championships several times, achieved podium finishes in ISU (UIP) international competitions, participated in several World Championships, and qualified for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The CPA Saint-Laurent continues to be represented at the highest level in figure skating. With former coaches such as Daniel Béland and Elise Hamel and skaters such as Jason Chan, Julien Mercier, Sylvain Bouillère, Jeffrey Wong, Edrian Paul Celestino, and Earl Jesse Celestino have represented the club internationally. While Patrice Archetto, a former CPA Saint-Laurent skater, competed in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Jason is the first skater trained and developed entirely at CPA Saint-Laurent to become an Olympian.
We should also mention the international presence of our Special Olympics skaters, in particular Emile Baz, gold medalist at the 2017 Special Olympics Winter Games in Austria, and Emanuel Bou Lutfallah, who qualified for the 2023 Special Olympics Winter Games in Russia, which were subsequently canceled for geopolitical reasons.
