Fall/Winter 2023-2024 (insert politique d'inscription)

All skaters must create an account at least 5 days BEFORE the registration period. If you are adding a new skater, please advise the club and send an email to cpa.stlaurent@gmail.com with a copy of the valid carte loisirs. An email will be sent to the account holder to confirm the update which will allow the account holder to to obtain the maximum discounts before registration. 

Priority Registration (CPA Saint-Laurent home club members for Fall-Winter 2022-2023 season) August 22nd - 19:30 until August 28th, 2023 - 20:00
General Registration (New members and CPA Saint-Laurent club members) August 29th, 2023 - 19:30 until September 4th, 2023 - 20:00
Late Registration September 9th, 2023 - 19h30 until September 15th, 2023 - 20:00

(*) All skaters registered with the club during the Fall/Winter 2022-2023 Seasons are considered to be club members. Skaters registered with the club during the Spring 2023 or Summer 2023 Seasons or who are registering for the first time are considered as new members.

  • The pre-registration period is exclusively reserved to the CPA Saint-Laurent members registered during the Fall-Winter 2022-2023 seasons and members of their immediate family (brother, sister) who meet the registration criteria.
  • A new registration for Spring or Summer season does not provide any priority registration privileges for the Fall-Winter 2023-2024 season.
  • Skaters who have passed a STAR test are in-eligible to register for CanSkate, or Adult classses.
  • No new registration in private is possible for non-members.
  • A skater may registration for a maximum of 6 sessions in private or 2 group class if registered in CanSkate.

Note: The pre-school skating program offered by the borough of Saint Laurent is not mandatory and precedes the CanSkate Program.

Skaters 18 years and younger: CanSkate 0-1-2

Skaters 18 years and older: Adulte

Previously registered in a CanSkate program 

Skaters who have not obtained their Badge 3 - CanSkate 0-1-2. 

Skaters who have achieved Bage 3 -5: CanSkate 3-4-5

PRIVATE OPTION 1 - 100% private. (Badge 5 and higher).

Must be followed by a coach. List of coaches

Registration Fee for Ice Time

The parents and skaters make their selection and make arrangements with their coach. The lesson time is paid directly to the coach. A minimum registration consists of 2 session on 2 different days.

JUNIOR: Badge 5 and higher

INTER 1: STAR 3 FS (Program+Elements) and STAR 3 in dance or skills 

INTER 2: STAR 5 FS (Program+Elements) and STAR 3 in dance or skills 

SENIOR: STAR 8 FS passed (Program + Elements) and STAR 5 in dance or skills

 

PRIVATE OPTION 2 - STAR Group class + a minimum of one private (Badge 5 passed and higher)

Must hire a coach to follow the progression of the skater.  List of coaches

Minimum 1 private + 1 STAR Group class

STAR Group class includes ice fee and coaches fee.

STAR group class plus

JUNIOR: Badge 5 and higher

INTER 1: STAR 3 FS (Program+Elements) and STAR 3 in dance or skills 

INTER 2: STAR 5 FS (Program+Elements) and STAR 3 in dance or skills 

SENIOR: STAR 8 FS passed (Program + Elements) and STAR 5 in dance or skills

 

Documents which must be read prior to registration

Documents which must be read prior to registration. The list includes some which appear as policies which must be accepted* in order to complete the registration:

General Information:

  • Skaters must be at least 5 years old by September 30, 2023 to be eligible to register for the CanSkate Fall/Winter 2023-2024 classes.  All skaters must have created an account at least 5 days BEFORE the registration period. If you already have an existing account with the club, DO NOT create a 2nd, you will not be able to register as the skater profiles will not have been validated by the club volunteers. All new or updated accounts MUST be validated by the club prior to registration.
  • The carte loisirs (beginning with 12777) is mandatory and must be valid until September 30th, 2023. You can obtain a new or renewed card at the Centre des Loisirs (1375 Grenet), the sports complexe or at the library.
  • The club uniform, skates and hockey helmet is not included in the registration fee.
  • The club uniform is MANDATORY for skaters registered in CanSkate classes (not included in the registration fee). The uniform may be purchased at the club office during the evening. Please consult the office hours for exact times. Please bring your child to ensure correct sizing.
    • Girls : skirt, beige tights and club sweathirt ($75) 
    • Boys : Club sweatshirt ($30); jeans are not permitted.
  • CSA approved hockey helmet is required for all skaters until the skater receives Badge 5 (adults included)
  • Supportive Skates of good quality with laces. Skates with velcro attachments are not accepted.
  • Skate Guards
  • Gloves - Please wash after each class

 All families who are eligible for financial assistance for their skating lessons MUST forward a copy of the certificate to the club via email (cpa.stlaurent@gmail.com) 3 days before registration. Please note that the financial assistance discount does not apply for the spring or summer sessions.

PRIVATE: Please ensure that you have consulted with your coach and have confirmed your ice time selection before completing your registration. Course fees are payable directly to your coach. To be in the private group, you must register for a minimum of 2 private sessions or 1 STAR-Group class plus 1 private session with a coach. To participate in the Junior ice show number you must register in a minimum of 2 private sessions. (The skater may participate in the ice show if they are registered in one STAR group and one private provided the skill level is similar to those skaters who registered for 2 private sessions / week.) 

 

REGISTRATION
You are responsible to provide copies of all updated information via email (cpa.stlaurent@gmail.com) 48 houres BEFORE registration:
  • Borough issued documents for Low-income families wishing to benefit from a discount. (Fall-Winter session only)
Registrations which have been completed without providing the mandatory documents and a confirmation of the account update will not receive the associated discounts. In accordance with the borough policies, no adjustments will be issued once the registration has been finalized by the account holder.
